Yahoo unveiled major changes to its image search service this morning and the user experience is now better than Google Image Search. Google may have all kinds of special collections (like the new Life Magazine archives) but Yahoo's image search is just more pleasing to use. The new Yahoo! interface includes more recommended search queries for related images than Google, a next-image picking ... Well, Yahoo's as good as its word. Two weeks ago, the company showed off some image search improvements and promised more were on the way. Now it's announced a thorough overhaul of its image search preview page. The old Yahoo Image Search would, like Google's counterpart, just show a thumbnail image and some name and size statistics in its preview pane. If you weren't happy with a pic, you'd ... One of the annoyances of doing image search on Yahoo and Google is the way they've both handled image previews. Up until now, when you clicked on a thumbnail image after doing a search, both engines took you to a preview page showing a larger version of the image in a pane at the top and the original Website it appears in below. Like many other frustrated image searchers, I find myself ...
